MRS. TITUS, ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR
Lindsey Titus is the Director of Orchestras at Independence High School in Frisco, TX. Previously, Mrs. Titus had been the Director of Orchestras at Scoggins Middle School since the school opened in 2008. Mrs. Titus has also taught at Stafford Middle School, Clark Middle School, and Liberty High School.
Mrs. Titus is a graduate of Baylor University. She played in the Baylor Symphony under the direction of Mr. Steven Heyde, studied Music Education with Dr. Michael Alexander, and cello with Dr. Gary Hardie. She graduated in December 2007 and began teaching in Frisco in 2008. She is a native of the Dallas area and graduated from Creekview High School in 2003.
Mrs. Titus is a cellist and has played in the Waco Symphony, and was the principal cellist of the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Irving, and she currently plays in a quartet called Simply Strings. In her free time, Mrs. Titus enjoys traveling, bike riding and photography. Mrs. Titus lives in Little Elm with her husband, Michael, her children James and Hope, and her dogs, Buster and Gus.

Ms. Sabrsula, Assistant Orchestra Director
Kathryn Sabrsula is the Assistant Director of Orchestras and the AP Music Theory teacher at Independence High School. This will be Ms. Sabrsula's first year teaching at Independence and in Frisco ISD and she is so excited to be joining the team! Ms. Sabrsula is beginning her 6th year teaching, having previously taught in Richardson ISD and Ector County ISD.
Ms. Sabrsula is a horn player and began performing in full symphony ensembles in the 7th grade, where she fell in love with the orchestral sound. She studied music education and conducting with Dr. Clifton Evans at the University of Texas at Arlington. While there, she also studied string pedagogy, including violin with Dr. Martha Walvoord, viola with Catherine Forbes, cello with Dr. John Burton, and bass with Dr. Jack Unzicker.
When she is not teaching music, Ms. Sabrsula enjoys rock climbing, yoga, adventuring around the world, playing board games and video games, and petting her two cats, Koji and Minerva.

Mrs. Li, HARP DIRECTOR
Ms. Megan Li is the director of harp studies at Independence High School. Ms. Li received her harp training at The Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied under renowned harp soloist Yolanda Kondonassis. She earned both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance. In addition, Ms. Li furthered her ensemble experience by attending many prestigious summer festivals including the Tanglewood Music Festival, Round Top Festival Institute, Eastern Music Festival, Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Monteux School and Music Festival. Ms. Li was also honored to be one of the last harpists to spend the summer studying with legendary harp teacher Alice Chalifoux at the Camden Harp Colony.
Since moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Ms. Li has performed with many local orchestras including the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Irving Symphony Orchestra, Plano Symphony Orchestra, and Abilene Philharmonic, among others. She is also an avid chamber musician and enjoys playing harp and violin duets with her husband, Steven Li, who is a member of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Li has a passion for teaching and has enjoyed helping her students achieve top ratings in Texas State Solo and Ensemble contests as well as be selected for All-State Orchestra. When she is not playing the harp or teaching, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Charissa, playing the ukulele, singing, reading, skiing and hiking.
